自動車（大型自動二輪車及び普通自動二輪車を除く。以下この条において同じ。）の運転者は、道路運送車両法第三章及びこれに基づく命令の規定により当該自動車に備えなければならないこととされている座席ベルト（以下「座席ベルト」という。）を装着しないで自動車を運転してはならない。ただし、疾病のため座席ベルトを装着することが療養上適当でない者が自動車を運転するとき、緊急自動車の運転者が当該緊急自動車を運転するとき、その他政令で定めるやむを得ない理由があるときは、この限りでない。
