Definition
Under the Road Traffic Act, a 'vehicle' (sharyō) means a motor vehicle, a motorised bicycle, a light vehicle (such as a bicycle), or a trolleybus. Streetcars/trams are NOT vehicles in the Act — they are treated separately — which is a classic definition trap.
On the test
True/false example: "Under the Road Traffic Act, a 'vehicle' includes streetcars (trams)." — False. Trams are handled as a separate category, not as 'vehicles'.
The law behind it
The Road Traffic Act, Article 2, lists what counts as a vehicle: motor vehicles, motorised bicycles, light vehicles, and trolleybuses. Trams are excluded from this definition.
